چکیده
Abstract The present study focused on evaluating the groundwater hydrogeochemical of shallow aquifers in semi-arid areas northern Ethiopia, using geospatial modelling and multivariate statistical techniques. Physico-chemical parameters, including pH, major ions, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), hardness (TH), pollution index (PI) other from 22 samples have been used to assess water quality, sources various types factors controlling chemistry. Results showed that spatial distribution EC, TDS, TH PI values these significantly differ one location another due geological variations anthropogenic activities area. quality most is generally unfit for drinking their PI, TH, calcium, potassium, iron bicarbonate (HCO 3 − ) found be above permissible limits WHO Ethiopian standards. parameters like sodium percentage, adsorption ratio (SAR), residual bicarbonate, permeability index, magnesium hazard Kelly’s revealed good irrigation utilization, whereas EC (ECiw), combined effects ECiw SAR indicated majority are not suitable use. Piper trilinear diagram classified under temporary with Ca–Mg–HCO type. Further, Gibbs reveals water–rock interaction processes governing chemistry Therefore, it recommended perform a constant checking program improvement tangible management practices sustainable utilization resou rces.

Roads have an important role in plants dispersal on different scales. Various plant species settle on roadsides, but some of them can enter the natural environments and threaten their biodiversity. Worldwide knowledge of roadside flora is necessary for local and global management of natural areas. Accordingly, the roadside flora of Northern Khorasan rangelands was studied along the 600 km ...

Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...
متن کاملAssessment of Groundwater Chemistry and Status in a Heavily Used Semi-Arid Region with Multivariate Statistical Analysis
This hydrogeological study assessed the quality of phreatic water supplies across the semi-arid, traditional agricultural region of the Yinchuan region in northwest China, near the upper reaches of the Yellow River. We analyzed the chemical characteristics of water collected from 39 sampling stations before the 2011 summer-autumn irrigation period, using multivariate statistical analysis and ge...
